I would like to take the time to introduce myself and tell you about the experience you will feel at Softlight Studios. My Name is Jim Sylvain and I opened Softlight Studios in October 2005. As of May 1, 2008 we moved to our new location in the " Engine House " at 158 Court Street in Auburn. I have photographed seniors and clients from all over Central Maine for 20 years prior to opening the studio. I specialize in senior portraits, families, children, weddings, glamour, modeling portfolios, sports leagues and dance. What I have to offer is a fun experience where you will be comfortable and relaxed.
I offer design consultation where we will discuss clothing, backgrounds, locations, and theme as your personal portrait can reflect your lifestyle. Black & white is very popular with it's timeless and modern contemporary style. I have indoor and outdoor themes (weather permitting). The indoor studio offers many modern options for backdrops & props. The outdoor studio can be especially beautiful (seasonal). I will travel within local driving distance unless special arrangements are made for additional travel costs. Being a member of Nikon professionals and NAPP Association keeps me up to date with the newest methods, state of the art equipment and creativity. My ongoing education and passion for photographing people is reflected in my work. I am passionate about photographing people and I bring out the very best portraits in my clients.
